Disappointed loyal customer

Review Text:
I have been wearing Acuvue Oasys since 2010 but I have noticed they are not what they've used to be for the last year. I am constantly going through them and they are NOT cheap. I literally just had to throw a brand new contact away because it was flat when I took it out the package and I couldn't see out of it. I might have to talk to my doctor about an alternative because Acuvue is falling off the radar and slipping on quality.

They dry out but it's not too bad

Review Text:
Wish I could put 3 1/2 stars, these contacts aren't TERRIBLE but they're not AMAZING. I've been using them for almost a year now. They were my first brand of contacts- ever. I haven't used any other brands to compare. I don't wear contacts daily, so I'm not switching them out every two weeks (usually after 7-10 days of [non-consecutive] usage) but I still feel like they get slightly to really uncomfortable in the last few days. And yes, I clean them out. They were also really hard to put in my first few months, and insanely dry the first three-four months (some of that I contribute to newbie adjustments etc) However, when they're not uncomfy or dry, they stay in place REALLY well. I'm almost on a year and haven't had a major movement or popping out issue, only SLIGHTLY when I cry.

I made a mistake

Pros:
none
Cons:
irritates the eye's
Review Text:
This was my first time wearing contact lenses and it was not a great experience. I used the Acuve- Oasys brand. On the first day I experienced a bit of blurriness but I just thought that my eyes had to adjust. The second day it was okay. On the third day I experienced a lot of dryness, I had to use the visine eye drops almost every hour. Unfortunately I had not brought my glasses with me that day, so it was either the eye drops or go blind for the day. By the 5th day I had to open a new pair of lenses (These are supposed to be the 2-week wear ones). With the new lens they felt good for the first two days by the third day my right eye was really irritated. My eye doctor suggested I try a different brand of Acuve-Vita. Hopefully it last more than a few days and does not irritate. I practiced proper lens care as instructed. The sad thing is now I can't return them and have to purchase new ones, maybe even a different brand.

Terrible Product, Caused Corneal Abrasions

Cons:
cause cornea damage
Review Text:
I have been wearing contacts for several years, and previously, had always been on monthly soft contact lenses.(Not from Acuvue, a different contact brand) Recently, my eye doctor recommended to switch to 2-week contact and said Acuvue Oasys is one of the most "breathable", allergy friendly contact lenses and changing them out every two weeks will ensure eye health. That was the worst advice I've ever gotten. This product is not as advertised. I have tried to switch to this particular product twice now, and each time, I have had to go back to the doctor due to red, burning, throbbing, light sensitive eyes. The cause? Over 4 corneal abrasions per eye! My optometist stated that it appears these contacts don't allow enough oxygen to permeate the contact and make its way to my eyes, so my eyes have been deprived. This is a direct opposite of the "maximum breathability" claim. Every time I switch back to a pair of my old contact brand for a few weeks, my eye heals. Within 3 days of opening a new set of Acuvue Oasys, I develop red eyes, throbbing pain, and intense light sensitivty and blurry vision. This is extremely frustrating for someone who takes perfect care of their eyes and contacts. Furthermore, the damage caused by these lenses have impacted my viability to receive LASIK treatment, since they have since damaged my cornea. Worst decision I have ever made.

What has happened?

Pros:
none
Cons:
dry
Review Text:
I have used Acuvue Advanced Hydraclear since I started wearing contacts (13+years) - they were soooo comfortable, no issues, no eye infections. And yes, I'd wear them to bed. No dryness, goop, infections. But because they discontinued it, I had no choice and purchased Acuvue Oasys. Immediately, I noticed that they felt uncomfortable, immediately dry...and yep, goop. How disappointing. So now I pretty much have no choice but to switch to a different brand. I am extremely saddened by this change since I was a lifelong Acuvue customer and would've just continued on until I died from old age (hoping). Oh well, on to the next one. If this was their way of moving customers to start using the expensive 1 day types - nope, moving on to another brand.

Finally happy

Review Text:
I'm very active person and I was struggling for a long time with lenses. I didn't want to wear a glasses either because they are not practical for my daily tasks at all. First time when I got a free trial Acuvue lenses from my doctor, I couldn't believe how light and comfortable they was. I'm so happy that I have found this amazing product and I would recommend it to everyone who's having any kind of problems with lenses.
