I have been wearing contacts for several years, and previously, had always been on monthly soft contact lenses.(Not from Acuvue, a different contact brand)
Recently, my eye doctor recommended to switch to 2-week contact and said Acuvue Oasys is one of the most "breathable", allergy friendly contact lenses and changing them out every two weeks will ensure eye health.
That was the worst advice I've ever gotten. This product is not as advertised. I have tried to switch to this particular product twice now, and each time, I have had to go back to the doctor due to red, burning, throbbing, light sensitive eyes. The cause? Over 4 corneal abrasions per eye!
My optometist stated that it appears these contacts don't allow enough oxygen to permeate the contact and make its way to my eyes, so my eyes have been deprived. This is a direct opposite of the "maximum breathability" claim.
Every time I switch back to a pair of my old contact brand for a few weeks, my eye heals. Within 3 days of opening a new set of Acuvue Oasys, I develop red eyes, throbbing pain, and intense light sensitivty and blurry vision. This is extremely frustrating for someone who takes perfect care of their eyes and contacts.
Furthermore, the damage caused by these lenses have impacted my viability to receive LASIK treatment, since they have since damaged my cornea.
Worst decision I have ever made.
No, I would not recommend this product
