FAQ

Do I have to choose between contacts and glasses?

No, you can wear whatever you’d like. Contacts are a great go-to for everyday comfort (they don’t smudge, break, fog up, or get in the way of sports), but you do you.

How do I get contact lenses?

All you have to do is schedule an appointment with your eye doctor. If you don’t have one, use our clinic finder to find an eye care professional near you. Be sure to tell them it’s for a fitting (not just a regular eye exam) when scheduling.

Can the lens get stuckbehind my eye?

Short answer, no. Long answer, it's impossible for contact lenses to get behind your eye because a membrane called the conjunctiva covers the white part of the eye and connects to the inside of the eyelid.

Are contact lenses comfortable to wear?

Like anything new, it can feel a bit strange at first. But most people get used to them quickly and hardly notice them after that. We’re so sure you’ll love your ACUVUE® lenses, we guarantee it with our Comfort Promise.

Can I sleep in my contact lenses?

It depends on the type of contact lens you use (daily or extended wear). Some contact lenses are FDA‑approved for extended wear. Always consult your Eye Care Professional.

How much do contact lenses cost?

Contact lenses can be surprisingly affordable, especially if you have vision insurance. The cost can vary dependingon what you and your eye doctor decide is best. But overall, ACUVUE® lenses are great value for great comfort.

Can I wear makeup with contact lenses?

Yes! Put your lenses in first, then do your thing with any kind of makeup you like. 

Can I swim with my contact lenses?

No. Contacts are great for all kinds of activities and sports, but swimming and contact lenses don’t mix.
