Opening the blister pack to your contact lenses can be tricky at first when you don't know how. But luckily, we have created a useful guide that is quick and easy to learn from. Just follow our 4 steps before putting on your contact lenses.

A guide to the first 4 steps with your new contact lenses
Step 1

Snap-off

Snap off

Firstly, hold the adjoining ends of the blister strip between your index finger and

thumb. Then, keep bending until you hear a snap!

Step 2

Wash your hands

Wash your hands

Next, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, then dry them with a clean,

lint-free towel.

Step 3

Lift the tab

Lift the tab

When you’re ready, carefully lift the tab using your thumb and index finger, then peel

back the foil.

Step 4

Scoop the contact lens out

Scoop the contact lens out

Finally, scoop the contact lens out with the tip of your index finger.

Check the lens

Make sure it’s the right way round before putting it on. If the edges flare out, it’s inside out. If it

looks like a smooth-edged cup, it’s ready to go.

What to do after contact lens removal

If you wear reusable contact lenses, it’s important to take proper care when cleaning and safely storing them. Just keep practising the steps in our video and before long it’ll be a part of your routine.

Disposing of your contact lenses

Remember your contact lenses should always be carefully disposed of in a waste bin rather than in a toilet or a sink.
